Trevor Linden is out as president of the Vancouver Canucks, the NHL team announced Wednesday.
The Canucks say Linden will pursue “different endeavours,” four years after taking over as team president.
Reports on Wednesday evening suggest that there had been a falling out between Linden and ownership over the future direction of the team.
“The move is believed to be part of a buildup of growing frustration between Linden and this team’s ownership over the direction of how to continue this team’s rebuild,” TSN’s Farhan Lalji reported.
Linden met with ownership in recent days and pointed to how several other teams had conducted their rebuilds. That vision was rejected, apparently.
