Kukla's Korner Hockey

I just returned to the KK compound after attending the Lester Patrick Awards luncheon at the Joe Louis Arena. It was a fantastic event, attended by the big names in hockey. Gary Bettman, Bill Daly, Mike Ilitch and Peter Karmanos Jr. were a few of the names in attendance.
As emcee Doc Emrick stated, it was the first Lester Patrick event to be held in an NHL arena and the first time an NHL team (all the current Wings were there) attended this type of event.
More on this later on my NHL.com blog tomorrow and I will also touch on it on KK later today or tomorrow.
, As Alanah pointed out a few times today, Jean-François Bégin of La Presse did a great job on two stories involving hockey bloggers.
The hockey blogging world is being recognized more and more. A few conversations I had today with folks attending the Lester Patrick event proves my point, and will be touched on later.
Make sure you read the articles and I suggest you head over to James Mirtle's site (see Alanah's post below) to read the English version if you can't read French.
A little tease (a coversation I had today)... Someone asked me if I was affiliated with the guy who "makes up rumors" and I responded absolutely not. He mentioned "that guy" is ruining some reputable blogs by giving the hockey blogging world a bad name. I told him I agree 100% and explained even though we are all hockey bloggers, we are not attached at the hip and in this case, most bloggers want nothing to do with that type of site.
