Kukla's Korner Hockey

Who Said This?

Number two, I read Kukla’s Corner a lot, and he has a lot of people on there who use Corsi numbers, and Gabe Desjardins used to do a thing, and initially you would read it and your eyes would glaze over not understanding it. But eventually as you plow into it, you try to figure out “what does this mean, what are these guys talking about?” Number three; I like a challenge so I thought, “okay can I figure out some of this stuff.”

Great mention of Kukla’s Korner!  Congrats, Paul.  I also noticed that KK is listed on the blogroll of Slap Shot, the New York Times hockey blog.  KK is the best hockey site ever!

Elliote is usually pretty good about getting his facts straight, but he’s way off base with that statement. There’s just one knucklehead at KK who uses Corsi numbers. Well, acutually, it’s more like he lives, breathes, bathes in and does assorted other unmentionable things with them.

The last thing is, Ron Wilson is a guy who is big into statistical analysis ...

From mapleleafs.nhl.com: “Ron Wilson was named the 27th head coach in Toronto Maple Leafs history on June 10, 2008. In his first three seasons in Toronto, the Maple Leafs compiled a record of 101-107-38.”

Yup. No doubt about it. Between “The Link Goes To Himself” and Ron Wilson, I think the value of Corsi numers has been firmly established. smile
