from Luke Fox of Sportsnet,
It was Brian Burke’s words that stole the show, as the former Leafs GM took centre stage at the annual Conn Smythe Dinner in support of Easter Seals and recounted his experience as the centre of the centre of the hockey universe.

Love his attitude at the end about going somewhere else and trying to haunt this team.

Didn’t he haunt the team enough while he was running it?

The team that is winning games right now was largely built by him, but yeah, you make a point lol

The team he built is winning with a young guy that Burke’s chosen coach wouldn’t give a real chance to and with one of Burke’s biggest signings sitting in the press box as a healthy scratch for most of the season and another of his biggest signings riding the bus in the AHL while collecting a $4M pay check.
They’re winnng and I’m happy that they are (it’ll be nice to live in an NHL city in which the team is actually involved in the playoffs) but I’m I’m going to wait to see what they do in a real season before doling out any accolades.
