from Larry Brooks of the New York Post,
There are imposters in our midst and they are wearing Rangers uniforms.
Suddenly, they are The Faux Blueshirts.
Sunday night, descending to unprecedented midseason depths with Alain Vigneault behind the bench, these guys turned a 3-1 lead after 20 minutes into a 7-3 defeat to the Capitals at the Garden that was only that close because Washington chose not to step on the throats of the vanquished after scoring its final goal against Magnus Hellberg — yes, Magnus Hellberg — at the 4:36 mark of the third period.
Henrik Lundqvist was pulled for the second time in his past five starts after he and his teammates simply collapsed once the Caps cracked the King’s façade at 5:25 of the second period, Evgeny Kuznetsov’s neat redirect at the right post cutting the lead to 3-2 after J.T. Miller, Chris Kreider and Dan Boyle had scored in the first period.
