Where Have We Heard This Before

On Friday, ESPN analyst Barry Melrose told New York radio station WFAN that a deal was close that would send Guerin to the New York Islanders. The Atlanta Thrashers are another team with interest in Guerin.
Tkachuk’s name has been linked at various times to Detroit, Anaheim and the New York Rangers. He still has not been asked by the Blues to waive his no-trade clause.
Deal or no deal—and at this point something seems almost certain to be done—the Blues still have a shot at reaching the postseason.

added 10:25am, from a St. Louis Post-Dispatch story pointed to earlier today,

Davidson denied a rumor that the Blues had a deal in place to trade Guerin to the New York Islanders.
When reached Friday, Guerin said he hadn’t heard anything.
