Kukla's Korner Hockey

I have sent in my NHL.com blog about last night and will be pointing it out later today when it appears online.
I did not include my meeting with IwoCPO, The Sailor, the founder of Abel to Yzerman. This was the first time I met Bill and we chatted for a few minutes under the Gordie Howe statue at the JLA.
Bill wanted to be there as a fan, not as a media guy and to be truthful, I envied him. You see, I had a media credential around my neck, which basically prevents me from cheering. As many of you know, I am a fan first and never have or will consider myself a journalist.
As the game played-out, I thought of Bill with a beer in his hand, maybe two, screaming at the top of his lungs. Hurling jeers at the ref when the Lidstrom goal was waived off, exchanging high fives when the Red Wings scored, probably doing the same as most Wings fans were doing.
I miss that, I have to hold my emotions in check, can’t even give a little clap. There are perks to this job, but there are also a few downsides too, and this happens to be one of them. No cheering, my emotions in a state of flux!
I also want to thank Alanah for holding down the fort here at KK while I am covering the SCF. I know updating KK is not a one person job anymore and Alanah is going above and beyond her role here!
