I would also give you what the NHL side is saying but most are not allowed to talk, even though the year is 2012.

Plain and simple these owners think they can break us apart.GOOD LUCK!We r stronger than we’ve ever been and r behind Fehr 0.
Wow…
Can’t wait to read the quotes this summer when the players accept a worse deal and Fehr is no longer involved with the NHLPA.

Great, so you’re in favor of the season being canceled so the owners can break the union.
Hooray you!

Being able to talk did wonders for some players.
Now, light that campfire, I gots to write me some poems.

pictures of schoolboys claiming one dad can beat up another dad come racing into my mind.
Please, never, EVER, take a collective IQ test of this current crop of NHL players. That would make me give up on the league once and for all.

@BizNasty2point0
I would like to hear what the other 22 owners think of what’s going on. But they’re not allowed because it’s too expensive. #ChingChing #NHL
Considering Tenenbaum, who is losing the most money from a lack of season, released a statement accusing the union of acting in bad faith and washing his hands of the matter, I don’t know why Bissonnette thinks any of the remaining 22 owners would have anything more sympathetic to say.
@Dustinpenner25
Fehr works for the players.He has vast knowledge&experience; in this matter.It’s laughable to entertain ideas that he has a hidden agenda.
The document Fehr offered the owners, which he cynically spun to the media as the basis of a deal even though he knew it had already been rejected, carries with it a lower dollar value for the players than a Bettman offer from October which he ignored. The guy has a calculator. He knows this.
To me, this begs the question: what is Don Fehr working towards? He’s demonstrated “putting as much of membership as possible in the best financial position possible” isn’t it. So what’s his angle? Making the other side as mad as possible and calling it a win? Nice troll at the expense of the guys who trust you there, Don.

I think he was implying that the position of people like Upshall will only end up with players getting a worse deal than they would have gotten had they signed earlier, and then losing a years’ worth of pay besides.

^ This. Yea JJ, I’m a hockey fan that wants the season to be cancelled.
I could give a rat’s butt about the “union breaking”. My point is, to quote a TSN analyst, the players brought a hockey stick to a gun fight. The owners will get their way, it’s just a matter of when.

Starsfan…...Yeah, it looks like they have all the guns, but they want a season too. The players have plenty of leverage as long as they don’t just cave. The owners want to play.
Larry….....The NHL is trying to control the terms of negotiation. Fehr is trying to frustrate that approach. Your theory that this is totally personal seems pretty naive.
