from Ken Warren of the Ottawa Citizen,
So, what do we make of the Ottawa Senators exchanging a speedy, highly-talented, but largely one-dimensional high-scoring winger for a speedy, moderately-talented, but largely one-dimensional average-scoring winger?
Well, Senators general manager Pierre Dorion could have done a lot worse, considering the circumstances.
If we go by Mikkel Boedker’s track record, he’ll probably finish with between 13 and 20 goals and with between 30 and 40 points in the 2018-19 National Hockey League season.
We can also expect many extended goal-scoring slumps. Last season alone, he had droughts of nine games, eight games, 12 games and 10 games without a goal.
In very simplistic terms, Boedker is Mike Hoffman-Lite. Out goes a first-line/second-line winger, in comes a second-line/third-line winger.
