And with that, Vegas gets another exhausted team and the cup.

When does training camp start?

Resting between May 23 and May 28… I don’t think it is that unfavorable. It is Vegas who can become somehow rusty in the meantime.

Let’s just for a moment appreciate what an incredibly entertaining hockey game that was.

Vegas only needed five games to get rid of a very talented Winnipeg team. Any rest they get they deserve.

Not sure where all the hate for Vegas is coming from. Yes ,they had a favorable entry draft, but it in no way accounts for the level of success they’ve had this year.

This is something special, we should enjoy it for the once-in-a-lifetime event it is.

Tampa didn’t really seem to try… Or at least not compared to Washington. Ovie has really made me love him because he has so much heart for the game and carries the team on his shoulders in all the right ways.

From what I’ve seen (usually half of each game) Washington has been better even though Tampa won 3. Game 7 should be interesting… Definitely a toss up.

It’s funny.  It’s almost like the Caps players woke up and realized that they, along with the rest of hockey, may have gone to sleep on how good they really are.  All those years of failure kind of put doubt in a lot of minds, but all of them are playing at a really high level right now.  If they could finish like Pittsburgh, this series would have been over a while ago.

Vegas may actually get hurt by the extended layoff. They were sleepwalking a bit in game one against the Jets. But it should be advantageous as a final wears on as it may have been against the Jets who looked tired by game 5.

Tampa or Washington present a different challenge for Vegas. Both are well rounded, experienced rosters with skill, speed and size. Both CAN have strong goaltending. Both can score up and down the lineup. Both have power plays that are among the best.

As much as Vegas has done proving everyone wrong, I still think they go into the finals as underdogs.
