Watching The Stanley Cup Final In Canada

from Bruce Dowbiggin of the Globe and Mail,

As expected, the Los Angeles Kings win over the New Jersey Devils in the Stanley Cup Final was an unloved puppy for many Canadian TV viewers. With no Canadian team in the Final this year (after Vancouver’s record-setting run in 2011) the Kings/ Devils drew an average audience of 2.67 million over the six games. Understandably it was down from last year with the Canucks/Bruins, when Game 7 drew 8.7 million Canadians for Boston’s 4-0 win.

Overall, the 2012 Final Round playoffs produced a better rating than any Final with no Canadian teams playing since 2000.
