I don’t know, the result seemed worse than the hit. Guess we’ll leave it up to DOPS to flip their magic coin.

Looks like Carlo put his arm to protect himself and Wilson came up to protect himself, but it’s such a fast play, hard to tell

That’s a direct hit to the head including a high stick.

5 game minimum.

Meanwhile, the Boston media and just not Kevin Paul Dupont.  Last night it was pretty crazy.

I have given up guessing how DOPS will respond. Like guessing heads/tails for NFL kickoff.

My court:  suspended 5-8 games.

Best case he can make: officials didn’t assess even 2min. minor.

He could have gone for the puck and done more to get the body. But not super egregious.

iirc, the hit itself needs to rise to the level of a suspension before they look at reputation. This doesn’t do that. Maybe a fine

NHL Player Safety has offered an in person via Zoom conference with Wilson, no date set yet.

He led with his shoulder, but then rolled into Carlo’s head with the almost entire force of the hit with his arms raised. I’m all for giving hitters the benefit of the doubt when the person they hit puts themselves in a bad position, but this is not one of those cases. Wilson lined him up at a spot where Carlo was not going to be able to move and still found a way to barely graze Carlo’s center of mass and following through to the head.

The fact that Carlo didn’t get crushed shoulder to shoulder says it all. It was a perfect opportunity to deliver a hard shoulder to shoulder hit, yet somehow we end up with Carlo’s head getting 90% of the force.

Tom Wilson get zero benefit of the doubt.
Here Carlo’s raised arm and Wilson’s raised arms
look like an incidental adjustment that only slightly changes how
- with which part of his upper body - Wilson ends up making contact
to Carlo’s head.

Does anyone seriously think Wilson was solely intending a clean shoulder to shoulder hit and only hit Carlo in the head because he raised an arm last second
and Wilson had to protect himself thus accidentally hitting Carlo in the head?

This is the most violent repeat head-hunter in the league who was running around all shift trying to get a Bruin. He’s going in to hit Carlo high and the only difference is it ends up being partly arms instead of shoulder.

It was a elbow / forearm to the head check. Deserves a game suspension at least. Not surprised the refs missed it though as it was fast. Carlo didn’t change positions either so its all on Wilson to do it clean and he didn’t.
