Malkin has done crap like this his whole career. In fact lots of NHL stars have. There is a clear line. Superstar? Do whatever you want. 2nd liner and below, throw the book at them.

A dose of the rough stuff usually gets overlooked. Boarding, headshots, even clean ones, not so much.
