Blindside, not necessary but the opportunity more or less presented it self with Neilsen extending himself like that. I’d love to say what it should be.. but who the hell knows.

Indeed.
This is textbook “blindside back-pressure” and an elbow to boot, but I have no clue if this is suspendable. I thought Richards should have been out a year for his hit on Booth (ditto Cooke on Savard) and thought J Thornton didn’t even warrant 2 minutes, so what do I know, Colie?

Well at least Dubinsky thinks so !!
Saw it live & thought it was an elbow & the Idiot Butch Goring Isles analyst said he couldn’t tell if it was a shoulder or Elbow ?? Is this why they fired Billy Jaffe & hired him ??

It looked like thats what Callahan was trying to do; that is put a shoulder on him. Nielsen over extended and got popped with the elbow. Callahan’s immediate reaction was befuddlement so I don’t think it was intentional. Not sure if its suspendable or not but ya never know.

2 minutes for elbowing should be the end of it. It won’t be because this league makes no sense.

No contact from the NHL on the hit as of yet, so they may not do anything about it.
