Video- Matt Cooke Gets All Net From 185 Feet Away

Penalty and Caps score on the PP.

Also, early in the game, and a hit that is getting much hype, Ovechkin put a hit on Malkin.

Not something I would normally point out, but you know, the hype, the hype, the hype untill 1/1/11.  Watch it below…

Isn’t that a blindside hit? Malkin is already engaged with another player and gets run by Ovie. There was a similar hit on Abdelkader tonight in the 3rd period.

Neither got hurt so nothing is going to be done about it, but this is precisely the moment to enforce the blindside call.

Don’t worry Paul, the good guys won.

I thought blindside at first, but the reverse view looks a lot more like a shoulder contact hit. I had to wait until after the game to get a damned replay from the reverse, but there it was.

I’m not going to get all spun up, Pens fans didn’t have a problem when Colby Armstrong did that same thing several times…..

How it applies with the new rules?  Who the hell knows, but all I know is that he came from the other side of the ice to make that hit…..
