Kronwall wears his up at an angle so I guess he will have a choice to make.

So if he DOESN’T wear a visor, no penalty.  But if he wears it angled up, penalty.

Riiiight.

The rule, ensure adequate eye protection.

Sportsnet has more.

In the Leafs/Jets game, the ref told one of the goalies that the knob of his goal stick had to have white tape (had med blue tape). At least the ref taped the stick with white . Maybe it messes up seeing the difference of the puck and knob of the goalie stick on a review??

Must have been decided in a Bar at the GM meetings in Florida.

I wonder what all the new rules are from last year?

It seems like a really petty infraction, but I understand it. Why wear a visor if you’re not going to wear it properly? It’s not doing you any good to wear it in a way where it’s not going to protect you.

Players were also warned last night about the jersey tuck rule.

They must wear their sweaters untucked and a few players mentioned the new sweaters are more streamlined and they are trying to get adjusted to them.

I added a video to the post with Friedman on the visor rule.

Honestly, that was an idiotic penalty for Komarov to take.  He was warned during the pre-season to wear it properly.  He took the visor completely off the helmet during the pre-season game and now he thinks it’s okay to wear it during a regular season game?

Probably didn’t expect it to get called again.  Like the jersey tuck rule - this became such a huge concern of the NHL a few seasons ago, then after 5 months they quit calling it.

If I’m seeing the video correctly he was actually warned TWICE in the preseason, in two different games.

So I mean yeah, what a complete dipstick he must be to then do it again in the season opener.

There is no other blame or culprit here.  Whether or not someone thinks the rule is dub is irrelevant.  They gave Komarov chances, and he did the dumb thing again anyways.

Exactly.  He knew the rule, he ignored it, he got nailed.  You gotta think Babcock is gonna tell him in no uncertain teams to smarten up.  If I was his coach, I’d be pissed.

Well you guys are right about Kronwall.  Having it called last night would be a signal to Kronner.  If he gets caught tonight I would break his other leg, cause they will be watching!
