This game was spectacular, the end-to-end action befitting two of the league’s top teams.

The atmosphere was electric, captain Steven Stamkos saying it’s the best he’s experienced during the regular season in a long time.

"It felt like a playoff game," coach Jon Cooper said. "Felt like that game could have been played in May, not December."

But the ending was heartbreaking for the Lightning, which lost on a buzzer-beating, power play goal with 2.3 seconds left. The dramatic 4-3 defeat snapped Tampa Bay’s seven-game winning streak, and brought the sellout crowd of 17,813 to its feet.
