Video- What Do You Think Of This Hit On Corey Perry From Brent Burns?

No penalty on the play.

Did Perry try to "draw" the call?

I would call it a hockey play.

Perry’s got the puck, and Burns checks him.

Sometimes boo-boos happen in hockey.

Why’d perry throw his stick? What a clown.

Is there even a reason to discuss the play?  It wasnt even a hit, Burns just bumped him, and Perry fell over like he was shot, as all Anaheim players are taught to do since the days of Carlyle.  Diving is not a fashionable call this season, so no harm, no foul.  What should be an automatic game misconduct is instigating a fight after a clean hit.

And Perry’s a douche.

Does anyone think a diving call on Perry would put a stop to this?

I’d love to see diving called more often, like on this play.  I do not want to see hockey turn into soccer.  Hell, I thought Malkin embellished the Legwand cheap shot last night as well.

this is Perry’s new M.O.: he gets grazed by someone and flops like someone just shot him with a canon. He did this against the Kings earlier in the week and threw his stick in the air and fell to the ice. I’m beginning to think that this is a reaction by some of the most offensively skilled players (Kesler, Crosby, for example) because teams target them, diminish their space on the ice, and they are trying to get any advantage possible.

The players in this league learned this behavior when Crosby was allowed to flop all over the place and draw calls left and right.  It should have been stopped then.

Embellishment should definitely be called, particularly in a case like this, but sadly it’s part of the game that Gary built.

I do not want to see hockey turn into soccer.

Unlike hockey, soccer players do get sent off for diving.  Unlike hockey, soccer referees aren’t concerned with whether or not a player gets embarrassed.

Burns didn’t hit the little prick in the numbers and he didn’t drive him into the boards. It was just a mini-Kronwalling.

The biggest crybabies (embellishers) in the leagure are Ferry, Crysbaby and Toes (none of whom deserve to have their names spelled correctly). And calling them for diving won’t change their behavior. It’s just who they are.

I couldn’t stop laughing. This made my day.
