But goal waved off after it was reviewed, kicking motion.
added 9:16pm, via the Situation Room Blog at NHL.com,
At 18:44 of the second period in the Hurricanes/Maple Leafs game, video review determined that Toronto forward Tyler Bozak directed the puck into the net with his right skate. According to rule 49.2 "A goal cannot be scored by an attacking player who uses a distinct kicking motion to propel the puck into the net." No goal Toronto.

blown call. He turned his foot, which is allowed. It wasn’t propelling the puck at all, which is what kicking the puck would do.

Why not just let pucks off skates count as goals?
Because then you’ll have guys kicking at pucks with their feet that have sharp blades on them.

Having said that, the Bozak call is complete BS. There is nothing about what he did that says “distinct kicking motion”.
Disgraceful.

I don’t think we’d see a kicking epidemic all of a sudden if they were allowed full stop. The stick is still so much better to use.

Why not just let pucks off skates count as goals? This is like how many angels can sit on the head of a pin. This starts to get silly after awhile
