added 10:45pm, Boston could have a complaint that they lost a goal too. Watch below and this one is not reviewable, since the ref had the intent to blow the whistle.

There’s been a ton of talk about the impact of the players being rusty after an extended layoff, but I think the biggest impact is proving to be with the refs. Looking at this, plus the bad call on Backes and the non-call on Boll after he directly hit Abby in the head tonight, hint at a ref corps not quite up to standards yet either.
Its really situations like this that show why we HAVE to start using video replays on every goal. Isn’t the goal to get it right?? This is clearly a good goal, and it wasn’t reviewed why? And if it was reviewed, well then we’ve got bigger issues. At no point does Kadri enter the crease here - this is just what happens when you leave your crease as a goalie.
