Not saying I agree with Burke but he makes some good points when to comes to paying the veterans/more experienced players.

I also agree with Burke that if they were going to give him this kind of dough—and prorate this year so that he STILL gets his ~$6.9mil despite not even playing—then why wasn’t it done in Aug?

Oh well, at least the hockey media can talk about something else for a change—in a week, after analyzing the snot out of this, of course.

With other contracts to come next Summer, this deal only works for this year…To keep their current players and sign guys next year will require trades..welcome to the salary cap world Toronto.. confused

talk about a player that thinks his shit don’t stink .... Nylander takes the cake.
Glad I won’t be in that dressing room to put up with his ego.

I agree with Burke ... if you’re going to flinch first and give him the money he was asking for, why make him sit out ??  what lesson does he learn ??

sad ... just sad.
