Video- The Hotstove Tonight

The HNIC experts discussed what it will take to get the NHL to say yes to the Olympics. If you don't watch the full video, at least catch the short interview with Rene Fasel in the early part of the segment.

I have a feeling and the HNIC experts agree, someone in the NHL office won't be happy with what Fasel said.

Plus the group discussed the Tim Thomas trade and mentioned if the league did a favor for Jeremy Jacobs?

Rene Fasel is the one hockey executive who makes Bettman seem warm and fuzzy by comparison. He’s just such a slimy, nasty, prickly and egotistical whiner…

Who’s so evidently trying to convert his tenure with the IIHF by loosely translating the “International” part into “Whatever benefits Europe and the IIHF’s bottom line via the huge money we get for broadcasting rights the World Championships and Olympics” to prove that he’s worth being given a position where the real money is—on the International Olympic Committee—that it’s ridiculous.

He’s a schemer, a proclaimer and defamer and a lecherous scumbag of the first order.

I couldn’t agree more. This is one issue I hope Bettman holds the IIHF feet to the fire. Fasel blames “ego”, in this case it is his.
