Good video.

I anticipate the inability to bump up the severity of a penalty based on a review to be lamented many times.

I have no problem with any of the changes, and I hope the match major/penalty review puts some sense back into some of those calls.

But while I can live with it, I’d rather the netting just be in play on anything deflected from within the zone (so no dump ins into the netting). Eliminate the need for that review entirely.

Nate, I’ve had that thought about the netting before, but if you make it officially ‘in-play’ then teams will start to strategize with it, and most hockey rinks non-pros play in don’t have those, so that could potentially be a major difference between the NHL and regular hockey that most people have access to, and I think they want to keep the games as similar as possible.
