I live in Vegas and no, they’re not my team.  Having said that, that was a check that didn’t need to be made by Reaves.

He really was aiming high from the outset and seemed to gratuitously follow through as much as possible on it once he made contact.

Glad the league DoPS was able to get their dartboard out of storage for this.

Main defense I’ve seen from fans seems to be:
Don’t ever look down or you will deserve this. 

Not saying that is the league’s rationale per se
but they seem to go out of their way to find any excuse
or hair-splitting basis to avoid putting the onus on players
to avoid headshots
