Why wasn’t this a delay of game or unsportsmanlike conduct penalty?

Because it was the Bruins at home. Did you see the refs look away from Lucic’s rather obvious boarding late in the third?  Get used to it   Were going there next season.

If you’ve been watching the NHL for any length of time, you should already be used to it.

I’m trying to think of any sports venue more tilted towards the home team, and the only place that comes to mind is Fenway.  Hmmm.  Seems to be a connection somewhere in there.

That wasn’t a delay of game penalty for the same reason the fans throwing towels on the ice wasn’t a penalty: the criteria changes for a game 7.

Let’s face it, we as fans want the criteria to change for games such as last night. We know what constitutes a hooking in February usually doesn’t constitute a hooking in a game seven of a playoff round.

Was Marchand’s move stupid? Yes. Should it have led to a possible elimination of the Bruins due to a late-game penalty? No.

Taking away a scoring chance should always be a penalty, regardless of when it occurs. Delay of game because of a bonehead move by a player who was trying to get the attention of his fellow players over the noisy crowd? I don’t think anyone would have wanted to see this series settled that way.

No, but Lucic’s boarding definitely was a penalty

So was Perry’s tripping on Quincey.
