Video- No Goal Anaheim, Two Minutes For Goalie Interference

You will see Beleskey's stick touch the left leg/toe of the goalie, not sure if there was enough call a two minute penalty for goalie interference or even waive off the goal.

Your thoughts?

added 9:36pm, My mistake, the call was actually on Beleskey for interference on the dman.

No way interference, Toronto has to get involved, if not these referees need to be disciplined in some manner for these tap penalties.  Many hooking, slashing stick, player interference, etc. are nothing but tap penalties, they are bogus.  Some referees just don’t get it, you wonder if they finished high school.  The people the league hires need to be reviewed, eg Eric Lindros, etc.

The standard used for judging goalie interference is… Wait is there a standard? It seems all over the map. Of course I don’t get embellishment either.  How do you get a penalty for fake falling when the other guy still gets the penalty for the trip? You should have fell less? Wouldn’t it make more sense to get a diving penalty for falling when no penalty has taken place? Am I alone on this one?

Agreed, if I tap you on the hand an you throw your stick, shake your hand, grab it and hold it tight on your leg.  The refs got to learn what undue force is, define it… pretty soon you won’t even be able to “check”  a player, that definition seems to be changing all the time as well.

As I just mentioned in the post, the interference call on Beleskey was for pushing the dman.

Had they called it a crosscheck, which it was, it’d be a lot less confusing.
