As the tweet says, he wasn't really serious.

Watch the American intermission reports with Milbury and Roenick’s p!ssing contests (unless Jones is on there, where he doesn’t much help), and then watch CBC/Sportsnet intermissions with guys like Ron McLean, Elliotte Friedman, and Doug McKenzie who actually seem keen on imparting information to the viewer. Yea, Strombo is kind of a d-bag, and you either love Grapes or hate him, but the American guys all seem to have taken one too many pucks to the melon.

So, just because Mike Milbury is pretending he was joking, are we pretending we believe him?

Sad but true.
I usually try to watch a different feed now and then just to experience something different.
I love CBC and TSN and enjoy their telecasts, but at times, it’s good to try a different flavour.
NBC is not a good flavour.
Milbury, Roenick and Jones don’t seem very interested in reporting on the sport or providing thoughtful analysis.
It’s like they’re trying to be entertainers and create a caricature of themselves, hoping it becomes mainstream.

Why not get Bill Clement? Or Kevin Allen? Or anyone who can speak intelligently who doesn’t care if he’s not going to be the next Don Cherry.

Speaking of CBC, I really miss the Hot Stove from a few years back.
MacLean was a dynamite host and while some disliked him, I thought Al Strachan was hilarious. Some of the pissing contests he’d get in with Slats were classic.

The Sportsnet Panel with D-Bag George, Kypeos and company isn’t too bad. I like Kelly Hrudey and Elliot Freidman adds a lot to the panel. Those guys do enough to water-down the horribleness that is Strombo and Caveman Kypreos.
But as much as I dislike George and Nick, they are lightyears better than Milbury and Roenick.

Gawd, what an idiot. Concussion?

They need to give that sack of sad a new muzzle. Put peanut butter inside of it, and be amazed at how quick he gets it strapped to his face.

As if any of his comments aren’t true.

Let’s pretend these sorts of discussions in the locker room and these intents don’t exist.  That will make the game safer.

Maybe it doesn’t make for the sort of thing NBC wants kids to hear, but this is real life. This is how the game is played.  Read any biography from a tougher guy, and you’ll hear it in their own words.

Except for the vast majority of players, they aren’t true at all.

Of course.  But that doesn’t mean there aren’t guys doing this on every team.

You think there’s a guy on the Red Wings who is trying to injrue someone every time he takes a penalty?
