Video- Matt Hendricks Hit On Aaron Ekblad

from David Staples of the Edmonton Journal,

In the third period of the Edmonton Oilers-Florida Panthers game, Matt Hendricks caught Panthers d-man Aaron Ekblad with a hellacious hit behind the Florida net.

Should Hendricks be suspended?

My take? Dangerous hit from behind into the boards, but no direct contact with head. I see him getting 1 or 2 games.

Ekblad did sit out for about ten minutes, then returned.

Definitely a suspendable hit.  What a piece of shit Hendricks is.  Another player that has no business being in the league, but you are going to see his type filling rosters all over the league once expansion comes.

I didn’t like his reaction after the hit… I didn’t really like the hit in general but I’ve seen worse, it didn’t seem malicious, but he will probably get a game or two.
