Tortorella as far as I know doesn’t abuse players with mental illness
and isn’t an ego monster who makes life miserable for his players.

He is demanding and can sour on guys who won’t play the
right way they need to to be successful.

But coming from NYR to the meltdown and one and done season
in Vancouver, he actually seems to have learned a lot and if not
exactly mellowed gotten much better at being positive and constructive.

Tastes may vary but I find his ultra-terse press conferences funny.
He’s not going to answer a question that answers itself. And he’s not going to
go into a detailed postmortem following an epic end of game collapse.
Media can watch the tape and see who is out of position or is standing around.

When you’ve got an elimination game coming up last thing you want to do is
dwell on specific mistakes by specific players. My two cents is they got super-passive and quit playing. Against a super-skilled team like Toronto it’s not like they are going to struggle to put a few in your net when you stop actively playing your game.

No way Torts is let go even if they lose game five.
And if he was out of a job he’d be fielding offers the next
week. Easy coach of the year finalist.

I agree.  Hes refreshingly real.  And hes willing to improve himself too and thats an easy type to play for.

Hes refreshingly real.

I like it as he gets to the point without any B.S. grin
