via a tweet from Mike Chambers,
"I saw him coming off the ice. He was in the hallway. He seems to be doing good. I think that we get lucky on it. Hopefully, he's feeling good and everything tomorrow but as of right now he seems to be fine" -- Jared Bednar on Nathan MacKinnon

Not downplaying the hit on Mackinnon but how is that worthy of a hearing when this was deemed nothing?

Not a match penalty hit. Doesn’t need any further fines or suspensions.

I could see if it was a quick decision needed by the refs in real time, but I thought these were plays the refs review on video are they not?
If that was anyone other than someone in the top 20 in league points, would this even be a question?

This definitely feels like the league making an example of an unheralded young player on a team that’s basically gotten shafted by officiating ever since they got a couple breaks in the 2019 playoffs. I hate to say it, but as a Sharks fan who tries to be very reasonable and unbiased, it’s been brutal. Evander Kane’s “interaction” with a ref in the 2019 preseason, for which he was suspended for several games (unjustly) has only enhanced his status, and the team’s, as pariahs, despite the team being really soft outside of him.
Not that it matters since we’ve sucked pretty badly since that 2019 series against the Blues, but it’s kind of hard to stomach at times.

I do not think that hit was worthy of a match penalty.
