12/29/2018 at 7:16pm EST

from Emily Sadler of Sportsnet,

Winnipeg Jets defenceman Dustin Byfuglien left Saturday’s loss to the Minnesota Wild with an apparent leg injury, and did not return.

Midway through the third period, the defenceman collided awkwardly with Wild forward Luke Kunin when he attempted to retrieve the puck against the Jets’ end boards. Byfuglien appeared to be in immediate discomfort, doing his best to avoid putting weight on his left leg. Play was stopped, as the Jets had possession of the puck, and Byfuglien was helped off the ice by teammates and a trainer. Replay showed Kunin make contact with his left leg around the knee area.

The Jets say more information tomorrow on Big Buff.
