NEW YORK (May 24, 2022) – St. Louis Blues forward David Perron has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for cross-checking Colorado Avalanche forward Nazem Kadri during Game 4 of the teams’ Second Round series in St. Louis on Monday, May 23, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 5:30 of the second period. Perron was assessed a minor penalty for cross-checking.

Well Kadri is probably a step below Marchand but for whatever reason people don’t mind actually going after Kadri. He was running his mouth before that all happened-would love to know what he said.

That tweet that mentioned Todd Bertuzzi… That’s a bit of a stretch.

I really didn’t see anything in the collision with Binnington that would justify all this reaction towards Kadri.  Maybe it’s more subtle than what’s shown, but Binnington’s reaction by throwing a water bottle during Kadri’s post game conference was so many levels petty.

Kadri’s in the heads of this BBBB team.  Like a borer worm.

It’s easy to forget what Kadri did in the playoffs last year
to Justin Faulk.

Kadri is legit a really dirty player.

I can see a team pretty much having enough with an opponent
after he knocks out a top defender with an egregious, obviously
intentional flying head shot. And then initiates contact with a defender going to the net and lands on top of your starting goalie. There’s enough history there that you kind of combine it with the result - which for the Blues is very severe. Husso doesn’t look confident in net. It can’t be this easy to swing a series. Teams really are trying to take out starting goalies.

Not that any of the physical response to Kadri helped the Blues actually win.
Better to hit Kadri and the rest of the Ave as hard as possible within the flow of the game. But it’s ridiculous seeing Avs fans act like Kadri is a hero because a few idiots made death threats. Kadri really does play a reckless game and seems to have no problem injuring opponents.

I worked with a guy from Toronto - huge Leafs fan.  He absolutely hated Kadri when he was there, said he was needlessly dirty and took too many bad penalties.  There were a notable number of Leafs fans who were happy when he left.

Regardless, I am beyond tired of the goalie running these playoffs.  This is just insane how many guys have gone down from being run over.  We’ve got stats and analytics and all that - it would be great to see the percentage of goalie injuries in these playoffs vs. prior or vs. the regular season.

Makes you wonder why no one has tried it on Vas yet.  That could change the series.

I get why the Blues are mad at Kadri (well, I do for last year, not so much the Binnington play if taken in isolation), but the issue is that they’ve been playing like a bunch of dirty mofos ever since Berube took over and they use it to their advantage to bully teams and get away with lots of crap. So no sympathy for them now.
