Video- Can Patrick Kane Be Stopped In The Shootout?

Another typical Patrick Kane SO goal and the game winner against Columbus.

To the goalies out there, how do you stop it?

Maybe a poke check, hard!  Nothing to lose.

As a goaltender myself, I would advise being as patient as Kane is being. Just stay with him and try not to move too much. When he gets in close enough, you might want to think about using a short poke check.

Someone’s figured out how as he’s not 100% in shootouts this year.

I think a better question is how Kane can stop be a douche extraordinaire.

The gimmick within the gimmick.

I find nothing exciting about his slow-mo shootouts.  It’s not hockey.  There’s no way he could do that during a breakaway in a game.

The NHL should spice up the shootout by requiring the shooter to start from a dead stop at the center ice face off dot with a defender chasing directly from behind him on the blue line.  No more of this slow-mo bullisht.
