from Aaron Portzline of Puck-Rakers,
Blue Jackets goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky had made 18 saves and was trending toward his second shutout of the season. But at 4:13 of the third, he used his glove to snuff out a J.T. Brown breakaway, then toppled to the ice and stayed there, flat on his belly.
Roar. Then … gulp.
Bobrovsky was helped off the ice by two teammates, putting no weight on his left leg. An MRI awaits on Wednesday.
“Obviously it was a leg injury, and when he comes out like that you’re a bit unsure,” Blue Jackets coach Todd Richards said. “I don’t know if we’ll have an answer today, but within the next few days we’ll have a better idea (of how serious it is).”
The Blue Jackets are not commenting further. Neither are those in Bobrovsky’s camp.
