I ‘ll confess… Ever since he turned his back on the Habs I’ve enjoyed watching Komi’s career take a nosedive. The kind of tailspin that speaks volumes about just how good his former playing partner in Montreal, Andrei Markov, really is - and why he never should have bailed on the team.
But I’ll give him props for taking on a bigger, tougher, better fighter that beat him into a pulp once before. Had the tables been turned, you can bet Lucy would never have gone there.
So good on you Komi. I hope your display of courage has exorcized some demons and that you’ll now recover some of that lost form. And if the Leafs ever want to part with you, we’ll trade you straight up for Kaberle so that he can return to sucking in TO (where he belongs) and you can get fighting lessons from GSP.
