So much for the Lecavalier to Montreal rumors.

I couldn’t understand a word those guys were saying - -
But haven’t seen that much lumber flying since my last visit to the sawmill.

They both deserved a game.

Definitely…Subban put a wicked slash on Vinny’s arms/wrists before he got whacked in the thigh.

5 + Game?
Nowai.
Subban looked like he milked that for all it was worth. Neither one did anything “worse” than the other. At least, not from that video.
2 each, maybe 10s. Not a game for either. Officiating is getting ridiculous.

Subban definitely sold that “Coup de Baton”...like Portuguese footie a la Cristiano Ronaldo…

I was watching VERSUS’ after show and both Ward and Roenick called Subban out as a sissy and a faker, and less of a man for egging Lecavalier on and then not having the balls to stand up to him. It was pretty blunt and harsh criticism and likely reflects best just what the rest of the NHL thinks of the guy at this point.
This is NOT what Subban needs to add to his reputation. I can’t possibly see him having a career of any meaning this way.
Refs blew it, plain and simple. Someone in Montreal needs to get Subban under control.

It might be homerific, but the Lightning are looking better every day. I’m actually starting to like them. Subban crossed a line and should get a game. Vinnie overreacted and should get a game or a fine. Montreal needs to explain to PK the parameters of sportsmanship they expect for their club.

I don’t really care about the punishment chosen (as in, 2 or 5), but what is absurd is that the penalties weren’t equal… either the refs weren’t paying attention or they just showed awful judgment. Not sure which is worse. I just don’t see how both players aren’t sent off for equal time in this case.

Holy hell, now THERE’s a prima donna who I’m happy is transferred away from Man U. The EPL is a man’s league - not a sissies league.

Sad that of all the ex-Habs that PK could have chosed to model his playing style after, he chose Mike Ribiero.

Are you people smoking crack? Subban’s slash was at least trying to prevent Lecavalier from scoring, whereas Lecavalier’s slash was vicious and had no purpose except to inflict pain. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE. You must be obtuse not to see it. That is why Lecavalier was given 5min and game misconduct. Maybe the refs could give them 2 min each when the scuffling was occuring beforehand. Instead the refs gave the players respect and let them work it out. It was Lecavalier who went TOO FAR, disrespected the refs and the game of hockey. As CAPTAIN of his team, he should know better. By the way, players who call other players sissys and divers probably have a few skeletons in their closets too.
