Video- Jagr Now Knows What It Takes To Win The Cup

Jaromir Jagr met with the media today.

Jagr also mentioned he felt the Pittsburgh fans did not want him back.

Watch that video below…

I wanted Jagr back as most Penguins fans did. If he was actually confused about what the fans’ reaction might be, he could have went to a Penguins site & immediately seen #jagrwatch and the tremendous support being thrown his way.

Yeah, he’s delusional at this point.  Most Pens fans were ready to welcome him back with open arms.  Then he decided to sign with their biggest rival, saying it wasn’t about money and about playing with right handed centers after he was the one initially saying he wanted to sign with either the Pens, Detroit, or Montreal.

Would have made for a great story…prodigal son and whatnot…but I never -ever- thought he would have been a good fit with the Pens (or detroit either, for that matter) on the ice. This bottom video does nothing to change my mind. He’s got great strength and hands still, but he’s half the speed of Sykora. There’s no way he could have been an even strength contributor with Pittsburgh as currently constructed. Martin/Letang/Orpik would make it to the offensive zone from behind their own net before Jagr got there starting at the home blueline. How do you draw up a breakout where something like that works well on the whiteboard?

And besides, the ‘heel turn’ story is just as good as the ‘Prodigal Son’ one, if not better. The Flyers rivalry was pretty uneventful last year for the first time in about 6 years. Won’t be that way this year, and I have this guy to thank for it.

I was always a huge jagr fan… it was too hard to not be after basically watching him as a penguin all those years, but i finally ended my support of him after this summer’s decision.

There was no better way for him to mend fences than by simply signing with the penguins this year to end his career.  Hopefully the penguins turn this into hoisting the cup as they did the year Hossa made his decision.

However; for those who say he does not have it anymore seem to forget Jagr’s game never was about speed.  He will get over 50 points this season.

Speed was a big part of Jagr’s game until he tore his groin around the all star game in 1997.
