Vanbiesbrouck Inducted into U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame

From the AP via Sports Illustrated,

John Vanbiesbrouck entered the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame on Friday night as the NHL’s winningest American-born goalie.

“One statistic you don’t know is that I had almost an equal number of losses,’’ the former Rangers star said. “That meant for a lot of cold, dark rides in New York City. It’s in those times that you grow, gain courage and ask the deepest questions.’‘

Vanbiesbrouck retired in 2002 with a 374-346-119 record. He won the Vezina Trophy as the NHL’s best goalie in 1986.
