It's a business on both sides. Nichushkin's agent Mark Gandler has not yet returned messages from today, but Eliotte Frideman reported on Twitter that Gandler said "nothing is done and all options are open."
So we sit and wait. But if Nichushkin signs in the KHL, he can't come back this season.
The guess is the Stars are not going to up their offer or offers. Nill when contacted today said: "They know what our offers are."
If Nichushkin signs in Russia, the Stars are positioned well. Nill signed Jiri Hudler to a one-year deal for $2 million in August and the Stars have plenty of skilled forwards to fill the gaps....
