Update On Pat Burns

If Pat Burns had been physically able, he would have jumped at the chance to return as Devils coach when Larry Robinson stepped down more than five weeks ago. But Burns, who just finished another round of chemotherapy last week in his fight with liver cancer, said it was never a possibility. "I wasn't ready physically. If I were ready, I would've jumped in. I've missed it," Burns said last night at the St. Pete Times Forum, where he watched the Devils face the Lightning.
