Two Sides Talking Today

via TSN,

The NHL and NHL Players' Association have been involved in conference calls and discussions on Saturday that are expected to drift into the early evening.

According to TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger, the calls are purely "informational", and no bargaining is going on.

It is believed that if discussions go well on Saturday, then a face-to-face meeting between the two sides could take place on Sunday in New York.

The Players' Association has been reading through the 288-page offer that the NHL presented to them on Thursday.

Read the highlights of the new proposal here.

Well, I guess there’s no urgency there.

SYF, that was expected today.  PA asking for clarification on some of the points, etc.

I getcha, Paul.  I’ve been involved in some high level senior IT manager meetings as a lemming and most of the time, they’ve spent most of the minutes on setting parameters for what will be discussed and they can be just as time-consuming as the actual agendas.

Just tired of my optimism being shown the door.

Personally I think Donald and Steve Fehr are preventing them from making a deal.Get rid of them and hire someone else.

Yeah, get someone who will roll over and take whatever the league offers because I don’t care about anything except getting my hockey.
