Sort of off topic, but how do you guys watch non-US games from the tournament?  I’m not finding a legal source.

Ryan Rishaug tweet,

Asked Perry abut the trip on Laine. “I have no idea what you’re talking about… “

There’s no way Perry is a decent person off the ice.
This man is a walking, breathing, pile of garbage.

Worse yet, he’s my country’s team CAPTAIN!

So is he subject to IIHF discipline for that?  Because even the NHL would do something about a cowardly garbage play like that.

That’s the most vicious thing I’ve ever seen take place in a hockey game. Perry should be banned from the league.

I wonder if he’d try that if Laine was a Ducks draft pick? Yeah, probably… you can only hope karma catches up to him at some point.

Vicious no. Chickenshit intentional and pointless, absolutely.
Same POS he’s always been, just on bigger ice and further from home is all.

Michael Traikos at Canoe,

Corey Perry said he had no recollection of the play.

And Patrik Laine took the high road, joking it was nothing a couple of painkillers could not remedy.

But when asked about the alleged slew-foot that Perry, the Team Canada captain, delivered on the 18-year-old Finnish forward in Tuesday’s game, Kari Jalonen did not mince words.

“I hope there’s someone who looks at those situations,” said Finland’s head coach. “It was an attempt to injure and the refs missed it. I don’t know if there’s anything to do afterwards. The most important thing is that Laine’s healthy.”
