So what did we learn from the (in)action of the 2006 National Hockey League trading deadline? With the possible exception of the Colorado Avalanche's Pierre Lacroix, the majority of NHL general managers chose to go the ultra-conservative route this time around, believing if they couldn't get a deal done to their liking, they weren't going to make one at all.
