Tortorella Puts Stanley Cup Talk To A Quick End

via Katie Strang of ESPN New York,

Rangers owner James Dolan upstaged coach John Tortorella at his post-game press conference, making a rare appearance in front of the media.

Dolan, who seemed giddy following the Rangers’ 3-0 win over the streaking Predators, said he feels the Rangers are “pretty close” to winning the Stanley Cup.

After Dolan dismissed himself following two questions, Tortorella good-naturedly countered that he’d like his 29-11-4 team to keep their focus.

“I have my owner up here talking about the Stanley Cup. I think that’s a bunch of bullshit. We need to take one game at a time.”

Dolan just doesn’t know how to STFU.

Thanks to the Sweet, Giggling Baby Jesus for Mr. and Mrs. Ilitch.

Not a fan of the Rangers by any means, but Torts is an awesome coach. Right on, SYF - that’s an easy way for other Eastern teams to amp-up their game even further when stupid remarks are made.

Dunno about love Torts, but I do appreciate a man who can stand up and say exactly what he has on his mind.

And this ladies and gentlemen is the day James Dolan jinxed the Stanley Cup chances for the Rangers.

Not only does he have a pair, he also is one of the few coaches that employs an exciting style.
