Too Much Ice Time

It wasn't that long ago that competitive minor hockey players might be on the ice for games once or twice a week with a practice thrown in. No longer. Today's high-level rep players can be skating five or six times a week while playing 60 to 80 games a season. ...Talented kids who concentrate on one activity have a better chance to become an elite player in that sport, anyway. That's the theory. But it may be completely wrong.
