Dany Heatley will be with San Antonio, this was for a third round pick. Panthers have extra players. Pirr is now cleared to play. Tomas Fleischmann has played well lately but will be UFA. Next to be moved should be UFAs Kopecky & Upshall.

So Tallon trades for Jagr, assumingly to take a stab at the playoffs, then makes essentially a player for pick trade with a cup contender.

For those that don’t get it, Panthers had Pirr out with an injury. He came back and scored two goals in his first game. Who would you rather play, Pirr a guy that scores or Fleischmann a guy that rarely scores. Vincent Trocheck is playing he was called up an scored a couple goals. Who would you rather play Trocheck who is dynamic and scores or Sean Bergenheim who hasn’t scored much lately? That is why Bergenheim and Fleischmann are gone and Trocheck and Pirr are in the line-up. Panthers have better young players ready to play and contribute now, draft picks for soon to be UFAs Bergenheim and Fleischmann is great. Tomáš Kopecký could be next as there are others in AHL ready to play. As for Dany Heatley, apparently Panthers took his million dollar contract to offset the $4.5 million of Fleischmann.
