Toews Out With Upper-Body Injury

Jonathan Toews left the game tonight against the St. Louis Blues when he took a hit along near the boards from Matt D’Agostini in the first period.

He will not return and some reports mentioned it could be a shoulder.

added 10:21pm, added video of the hit below, not the best of quality….

added 10:40pm, better quality video can be watched below…

ANA’s Ryan Getzlaf took a shot to the face and is out for tonight’s game against PHX.  Honda Arena ice crews took awhile to clean up the ice as Getzlaf was bleeding heavily being escorted to the bench.

get Kane back.  lose Toews.  It’s amazing this team is still in the playoff hunt after all they’ve been through since lifting the Cup.

If it’s a shoulder, doesn’t look like much of an injury, at least from the view of him sitting on the bench after.  Might be concussion.

The Hawks are in the playoff hunt only because 15 of 16 teams in the West are. They currently sit in 8th place, 3 pts out of 4th and 3 pts out of 10th. It will be a struggle for them to be there in the end if Toews is out for any period of time. This is not a deep team.
