Toews sitting out 3rd period, Bergeron heads to Chicago hospital

Jonathan Toews is on the Blackhawks' bench but not playing after taking this hit from Johnny Boychuk during the second period of Game 5 between the Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins (Toews continued to play in the 2nd but has not yet played in the 3rd)...

And after suffering an unknown injury that kept Patrice Bergeron on the bench for the second half of the second period, we received this news regarding the Bruins forward at the start of the third period:

As @ScottOake just reported. P. Bergeron had a stretcher waiting for him but he didn't use it. Walked to the ambulance on his own. #CBC

Update: Patrice Bergeron has been taken to a local hospital in Chicago for observation. There is no further update at this time. ^BB

no specifics on Bergeron's injury. I'm told it's not head related. Quenneville is hopeful Toews will play. Good sign he satyed on bench.
