Ticket Tuesday: New York Rangers Dominate Most Expensive Games List This Week

11/24/2015 at 5:40pm EST

By Joe Sudberg,

It has been all smiles at Madison Square Garden this season. While the New York Knicks showcase rising rookie Kristaps Porzingis, the Rangers have skated to the best record in the NHL over the season’s first seven weeks. It comes as no surprise, then, that the team appears in three of this week’s most expensive games on the secondary market.

Below is a comprehensive list of the week’s top games, according to TiqIQ.com:

1/25/2015 Montreal Canadiens @ New York Rangers | Avg. Price: $303.73 | Get-in: $115

Sitting atop the Atlantic division are the Montreal Canadiens, who have compiled a 16-4-2 record heading into Wednesday’s game at The World’s Most Famous Arena. The average secondary market price for Rangers vs Canadiens tickets is $303.73, marking just a 1.8% decrease from last Tuesday’s average of $309.34. The cheapest available ticket is listed for $115.

Wednesday will be the second of three games between the two Eastern Conference powerhouses in the regular season. They first battled in Montreal last month, where tickets averaged $219.25 – 27.8% cheaper than this week’s game. The Canadiens took a 3-0 victory over the Rangers in the early-season affair. The Habs will again welcome the Rangers back to Bell Centre on March 26, and the average price for tickets is $308.15 with a get-in price of $98.

11/28/2015 Philadelphia Flyers @ New York Rangers | Avg. Price: $328.60 | Get-in: $118

The Rangers will also host this week’s second most expensive game when they take on the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday. Rangers vs Flyers tickets currently average $328.60 and the get-in price is $118. That marks a 4.6% tumble from last Tuesday’s $344.39 average.

If planning on heading to MSG for Saturday’s divisional game, Hipmunk.com offers the best deals on flights and hotels surrounding the venue. New York City hotels on Hipmunk start from $96 each night while flights can be arranged from anywhere in the world.

11/27/2015 New York Rangers @ Boston Bruins | Avg. Price: $273.60 | Get-in: $98

Appearing for the third time in this week’s top games list, the Rangers will be at TD Garden to face the Boston Bruins Friday night. Bruins vs Rangers tickets currently own a secondary market average of $273.60, marking a 10.7% increase from last week’s $244.63 average. The cheapest ticket is listed for $98.

The Bruins have played well of late and hope to keep their winning ways alive when they host the Rangers Friday. The team owns the fourth spot in the Atlantic at 11-8-1 and trails the second-place Ottawa Senators by just two points. They’ll have significant ground to make up if they hope to catch the Canadiens, however, who own a league-best 34 points.

11/28/2015 Chicago Blackhawks @ Los Angeles Kings | Avg. Price: $206.02 | Get-in: $92

Heading out west, the Los Angeles Kings welcome the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks Saturday, where Blackhawks vs Kings tickets average $206.02 on the secondary market. That is just a 1.9% drop from last Tuesday’s average of $210.82. Tickets start from $92.

The Blackhawks have struggled out of the gate, going just 11-8-2 over their first 22 games. Posting a 13-8-0 record this season, the Kings are tied with the San Jose Sharks atop the Pacific division.
