-Alexander Mogilny was a healthy scratch last night for the 2nd time this year.
-If you haven't noticed, the trap is back. Six games last night, four shutouts and the other two losing teams had 1 & 2 goals respectively.
-Mike Babcock is not a happy man these days. He has been stressing the Wings get off to a fast start from the drop of the puck, yet they have not responded like he would hope they would.
-Clarke Wilm thinks the whole thing "sucks."
As a native of Saskatchewan and a former member of the Calgary Flames, Wilm is well aware of the legions of Maple Leafs fans sprinkled throughout Western Canada whose loyalty to the blue and white is unwavering.

-Rochester (Mi.) native Jim Sardelli, 17, who attends Pontiac Notre Dame Prep, got a thrill of a lifetime Tuesday.
Waiting for his own practice at Joe Louis Arena, Sardelli was summoned by the Wild after goalie Manny Fernandezf ell ill with the flu. Sardelli, who is a goalie for the Little Caesars major midget team, tended a net for the Wild during the morning skate.- via the Detroit News
